Annatina
Intro and Bio:
Annatina is a graduate of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Centre, was a professional Ballet and Modern dancer for many years. She danced with many groups including the Alvin Ailey Student Performance Group, and she taught and presented her own choreography extensively throughout NYC before discovering her love for Tango. Her knowledge of other dance forms helped her progress quickly; she studied in Buenos Aires with well-known instructors like Gloria y Eduardo Archimbau, Julio Balmaceda y Corina de la Rosa, Mariano "Chicho" Frumboli, and Claudio y Pilar. She has performed in various theatres in NY and Europe, and is currently on staff at Empire Dance. She devotes herself completely to the Tango, and could not imagine living without it. "Tango is like life itself, it has everything in it: love, passion, sadness, nostalgia, humour, happiness, and it is interacting and responding to a partner." She would like to invite anyone new to enter the magic world. Her classes focus on musicality and the technique that allows students to get on the dance floor in the milongas (tango parties), helping to develop her students into Tangueras/Tangueros with style.
