Experience the world of Argentine Tango at Empire Dance. Our teachers offer a full range of styles all within the range authentic Argentine tango. We create a comfortable atmosphere where students recieve personal attention and coaching, helping students become part of the New York Tango Scene. Weekly Group Classes, Private Lessons, Practicas (Tango Practice Parties), Milongas (Tango Dance Parties) are just some of the ways that Empire Dance gives students the full tango experience, from their first step, to dancing the night away. Empire Dance also co-hosts the SPICE Summer Festival, a weekly tango and salsa celebration at NY's most romantic setting, Pier 63 on the Hudson River.

Empire Dance has 3 great Tango Parties:

Wednesday Nights from 9-12:30 Tanguera

Thursday Nights from 9-11pm El Abrazzo Tango Practica

Monday Nights from 9-1am June 7th-September 13th Spice on Pier 63

Caleb and Ting, using the name "Liquidtango" to describe their flowing style, offer cutting-edge concepts in Argentine Tango. They are at the forefront of a new generation of Argentine Tango dancers. Come and join them in exploring new ideas that are guaranteed to change the way you dance. Their classes are extremely popular with students and professional dancers alike, as is their weekly Tanguera Milonga (tango party), held at Empire Dance every Wednesday.

Robin and Jennifer are famous for their exquisite musicality and subtle style. As specialists in the "close embrace" style (sometimes called "milonguero" style), they are in demand at workshops all over the United States. It's no wonder that their classes have a devoted following of students! The measure of their success is in their students , who use what they learn to enjoy the many parties that are the NY tango scene.

 

Annatina brings her extensive experience in modern ballet and other dance forms to her Argentine Tango instruction and performance. She has performed in shows with reknowned musicians Tito Castro and Pancho Navarro, and has partnered most recently in performances with El Indio. She loves to share her passion for the dance with her students!
