Relaxation Spas in Argentina

Llao Llao Resort and Spa - Bariloche
The Llao Llao Hotel and Resort, without a doubt the best-known hotel-spa in the country, is also Patagonia's ideal place to relax and revitalize. Situated between Lake Nahuel Huapi and Lake Moreno, with the Lopez, Capilla, and Tronador mountains in the distance, here guests enjoy the crisp mountain air and beautiful scenery while discovering the best of Argentina.

The state-of-the-art spa and health club both overlook snow-capped peaks. The spa offers its own wellness, relaxation, detoxifying and revitalizing, as well as hydrotherapy programs, and of course relaxing massages and facial treatments. In additional, there are nearly a dozen specialized programs available, ranging from nutrition to bridal packages all the way to its signature "Spa Splendor" offer, which incorporates myotherapy, herbal wraps, aromatherapy and anti-stress treatments. The staff at Llao Llao is happy to accommodate every individual with their specific needs. The spa treatments make a great combination with outdoor activities at the resort such as horseback riding, hiking in the mountains, whitewater rafting, skiing, and day excursions to surrounding highlights.

Nido del Condor - Bariloche
Bariloche is well known for catering to upper-end travelers and offering luxurious accommodations at every turn. However, even the most jaded visitor will marvel at the setting of Nido del Condor, the "Condor's Nest". The main lodging is like something out of a fairy tale, a massive lodge perched on a hill in pristine settings. Nonetheless, there are only 28 rooms in the complex and the demand is always high. Directly in front of Nahuel Huapi Lake in Rio Negro province, five minutes' drive from downtown, and with unobstructed views of the local scenery, the location is superb.

Its recently upgraded spa and health club is a marvel as well. With Scottish showers, Finnish baths, an air-conditioned interior pool and an outside one as well, the options here are almost limitless. Additional delights include a dry sauna, Jacuzzi for up to 10 persons overlooking the lake, an indoor/outdoor solarium, an a wide array of health and beauty programs including massage sessions, weight reduction and stress treatments, customized menus and nutritional plans, and even all-day, one-on-one spa sessions.

Posada Los Alamos - El Calafate
Experience the height of luxury in one of the most beautiful regions in Argentina: El Calafate in Patagonia. The scenery is breathtaking, with the enormous glaciers of Los Glaciares National Park, the surrounding alpine forests, and the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few advancing glaciers in the world, forming a pristine backdrop. The complex is one of the largest in the country, with the main buildings looking like chalets in the Swiss Alps. From the hotel you can see the dramatic peaks of the Fitz Roy massif, which rises into the sky 11,073 feet (3,375 m). The hotel property also features 20,000 acres of parks and gardens, effectively surrounding the hotel and spa and making it a world unto itself.

The spa offers world-class facial and body treatments using the best of local herbs and plants. Some treatments use the antioxidant-rich grapevines of Malbec, which help tone and purify the skin. It also offers herbal hydrating masks, cleansing milk, and Patagonian mineral mud masks. Another unique treatment is coco therapy, which uses chocolate to get rid of wrinkles, stretch marks, and other skin imperfections. Its body treatments include full body massages, body scrubs, algae therapy scrubs, mud therapy, and an aromatherapy whirlpool session.

House of Jasmines - Salta
Tucked away on the outskirts of the city of Salta is the wonderful small hotel called the House of Jasmines. From the moment one approaches along its century-old, tree-lined boulevard, it is apparent this is no ordinary spa hotel. Completely isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city and very much its own kingdom, House of Jasmines is a unique "charm estancia". Guests come not to rope or ride horses, but rather to relax and revel in its tranquility and emphasis on the curative arts.

The Spa de Charme is a stand-alone center, separated from the main house and devoted to relaxation and well-being. It offers an array of treatments and massage therapies designed to harmonize and purify body and soul. Equipped with a dry sauna, Hammam (steam bath), three cabinets and two relax rooms, the Spa offers treatments such as the Princesa Inca (Inca Princess), Amanecer Salteno (Salta's Daybreak), Flores para un Rey (Flowers for a King) or Cinco Sentidos (Five Senses), each using minerals and herbs from the region to help recover calmness and freshness. It also offers a selection of drinks and detoxifiers such as antioxidant teas in its roof-top balcony or in the relax room. In the summer months there are outside massages and hydrotherapy in a pool overlooking the Andes.
