Argentina is one of the largest countries in the world and therefore offers the visitor many climates. The first thing to remember is that the seasons are reversed from those of the northern hemisphere, so when it is summer in New York and London it is winter in Argentina. Salta and Iguazu Falls are warm year-round, while El Calafate and Tierra del Fuego are a bit cool in January and quite cold in July.
Patagonia is a region of Argentina. The cities of Bariloche, Calafate, Ushuaia, and the Peninsula Valdes are all located in this area. Except for the Argentine summer, southern Patagonia is in deep winter and thus is quite difficult to travel in. For weather and climate in Patagonia, please see the appropriate city because Patagonia is a very big region.
Please select the region or destination from the list on the right-hand menu or from the map below for climate information and average temperatures.
